I had a quote from one of the Masters in my novel to his student after a spar. "If we had the same experience, you would have beaten me with your youth. It is like comparing a cub to a full grown lion. Youth is nothing compared to experience."

So... my story is sort of odd where there are Multipul MCs, sort of.... there is a primary MC, Maxwell, but there are MCs from other stories in this story as well (there is a reason) Anyways, I want clarify that because this is from Kristol from Kristol of Ancea, who is in this story as well. :p .

So basically one of the "Antagonists" is getting his ass kicked horribly by Maxwell, and Kristol is on the sideline watching.

"Do you even know how to fight," Kristol shouted. "I have seen little girls fight better than you,"

"Agent, I'm a master's student in engineering. Give me fifteen minutes, a piece of paper, and a pencil, and I'll tell you exactly where that alien spaceship took off from. All I need is the data off that chip in your pocket, and for someone to please untie me from this chair."

Robert- "Henry VIII is not our hero. We did not reform our church for men to commit adultery and have other men burnt at the stake for praising those reforms in too high a note."
Sackville- "You sound like a papist."
Robert- "The Queen is a more godly monarch than her father ever was. She does not serve God to secure her own base desires."
Sackville- "You're too young to have such distrust of the world."
Robert- "Or perhaps others are too late to be wise to it."

One of my great goals with writing this novel/novel series(depending on how much of a failure I am lol) is writing historical sass. I intend many a sassy court dialogue.

Reminds me of Game of Thrones. Pretty much every other scene are characters sassing each other. I love it.

Sassy court dialogue is necessary in all medieval or early modern period settings.

On second thought I don't think Sackville should say he sounds like a papist because I don't Catholics of the time had a problem with Henry for burning too overtly Protestant people for being heretics given that's exactly what the Catholics would think they were. Damn now I have to figure out how to change it.

Marckus still has a sense of humor in the worst circumstances. :p

“So who is coming? Has to be extremely horrifying if its got Maddie scared shitless,” General Flurren asks with a hint of fatigue, as she brings the whip to bear again into my flesh.

“Errgh! What do you care? Just enjoy this while you can,” I spit through my teeth at her.

“Who,” Her tone gets more aggressive.

“Rrraah,” I grind out,” My barber, you silly bitch.”

“You’re pretty funny, jackass! Try again!”

    “Shit! Sorry, it’s my florist.”

“At the rate you’re going, I am going to die of laughter,” she chuckles sending another lash my way.

“Errrah! Alright, damn, I hired you a beauty consultant. Surprise,” I retort back.

“How thoughtful of you...uhn...but I don’t need one.”

“Rrragh! Sure about that? You could tone down the sluttieness a bit you know.”

    “ That was rude, asshole!”

“Shiiit! Hey, just don’t be so heavy with crayons and you might land a guy. Errrgh! And maybe try being a little nicer. Don’t think torture on the first date sets a good example either. Damn it!”

Don't know why this brought the Niska scene from Firefly to mind. Probably the humor. :bigtongue:

"That was Wendy," Marjorie laughed. "Relax, it’s not what it might look like. Wendy is… I guess experimental might be the best word. Yes, she’s a robot, but she’s far more advanced than I thought possible. Her mind might be artificial and on the level of a child, but she does indeed make a damn good cup of coffee."

For context, "Wendy" is a robot, with the first self-aware artificial intelligence ever made. She looks like a teenage girl, with a cute smile, friendly face and all that. The idea was to use her for dangerous rescue operations where it's too dangerous for humans to go, like in caved-in mines, destroyed buildings and so on. Her body is near indestructible, and she's far stronger than any human. She could be strong enough to lift cars out of the way, if needed. Not entirely sure about that, as it's still a work in progresss. The main concept of the story is that she's not only perfect for dangerous rescue operations, but she could be a perfect soldier, too. Because she's a robot, she will not show fear, remorse, regret, or any other human emotions. She never misses her target, she never tires, and her body is near indestructible. If you tell her to kill someone, she will kill that someone. Except... what happens if she says no?

As time goes on, people will continue to learn about the world of magic, while the world of science becomes less private.

    Or, something like that.

... That actually makes sense :)

I also completely disagree with it because science is the process of learning about the world ;) so any magic in the world that can be studied and learned about is a branch of science :D but the line is still cool :)

In my writing I consider technology to be the application of science to shape the world, and magic is the application of the supernatural to shape the world.
