TV season is back in full swing! We all have our favorite shows--what's your long-time favorites, and what have you recently gotten into? My old faves coming back: Grey's Anatomy The Biggest Loser CSI Miami D) American Idol (January) (As well as the ones that never went off the air, like The Soup and The Tonight Show.) New Favorites: Community The Office -What would you recommend? Any show we should take a look at? My friend got me into The Office. I watched an episode and have never laughed harder in my life, I swear. I recommend that.....And Community is awesome too. -What are the best parts of your shows? Any significant characters or lines or episodes that were your favorite?
I only follow two series right now- Dexter and 24. I used to follow Prison Break and Heroes, but the recent seasons of both of them have been terrible. As for the favourite parts of those shows- with Dexter, everything. The writing, acting, soundtrack, plot and cinematography are all much better than what I'd expect from a television series. With 24, it's just a fun show, especially when watched with friends. It's the perfect show for drinking games, and of late I've found it fun watching the show viewing Jack Bauer as the villain. I don't think it's anywhere near as good as Dexter, but it's still very entertaining.
Dexter and Family Guy, those are the only two shows I actually watch. I'm busy, man! Not sure what I'm busy with, but I'm sure I could come up with a lie real quick if I were pressed on the subject.
Most of what I watch is via DVD, once in a while I'll watch one of the current episodes on TV. My favorites are... Nip/Tuck Rescue Me C.S.I Miami The Family Guy Big Love True Blood Ghost Hunters I don't really watch a lot of TV, just the news and HGTV, sometimes Discovery and Animal Planet. I like the History channel, too. I am more of a music person.
Personally I love The office and American idol like Gigi (twins!!!) There's also Ruby and Rockits and Sonny with a chance which are both cheesy typical abc family/disney shows but they're also fairly good and my all time favorite show Chuck
I'm very impressed with this. Robert Carlyle is one of my favourite actors, and his performances have been brilliant so far.
Gigi, I was going to ask you a while back when you mentioned Community if you watched The Office. I love that show! I also watch House and Gossip Girl (guilty pleasure...Joel got me into it), and I just started watching the first season of True Blood, which is...interesting... I also watch Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars, but those have both been off air for a while...I miss them.
The Soup and Top Chef are my favorites. As for girls, you'll probably like The OC my sister watches. It's all reruns because it stopped airing new episodes, but it's actually got a pretty good sense of popculture humor.
Cartoons: Family Guy! King of the Hill, South Park Shows, Star Trek Enterprise, or maybe something on SyFy Reality Shows, Idol once in a while, AFV Documentaries: Whenever something new comes on the History Channel, which is not very often
Anyone ever watch 30 Rock? I've heard it's awesome and it's won a lot of awards but I've never seen it.
I've heard it's awesome and that it has won plenty of awards too, but just like you I've never seen it. In fact, no one I know has ever seen it. They always tell me how funny the commercials are and how they really want to record it, but... well, apparently it's not a very memorable show because they always forget to hit the little red button on their DVR's. Maybe it's just too much work for them.
My husband and I watch several...Big Bang Theory, How I met your Mother, Cougartown, Modern Family, Fringe, Supernatural, Grey's Anatomy, Flash Forward, and Desperate Housewives. Can you say DVR? And let's not forget watching the Bears who right now are not having a very good game. They're not catching many breaks.
Quickly being added to my list of cool TV shows is Weeds. I just started watching season one, and I love it so far!
I don't watch TV all that much (unless you count defunct shows that I watch on DVD - Firefly, Buffy..., Futurama, et al), but I do have a bit of a thing for Antiques Roadshow.
Mad Men I love the writing and learning about the 60s, plus I want to go into advertising. Gossip Girl Guilty pleasure Modern Family/Community Funniest new shows on TV, imo.
