What are your favourite song lyrics? (sorry if this has been done before or should be some where else) I'm choosing: Just Like Heaven - The cure: "Show me how you do that trick The one that makes me scream" she said "The one that makes me laugh" she said And threw her arms around my neck "Show me how you do it And I promise you I promise that I'll run away with you I'll run away with you" Spinning on that dizzy edge I kissed her face and kissed her head And dreamed of all the different ways I had To make her glow "Why are you so far away?" she said "Why won't you ever know that I'm in love with you That I'm in love with you" You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Strange as angels Dancing in the deepest oceans Twisting in the water You're just like a dream Daylight licked me into shape I must have been asleep for days And moving lips to breathe her name I opened up my eyes And found myself alone alone Alone above a raging sea That stole the only girl I loved And drowned her deep inside of me You Soft and only You Lost and lonely You Just like heaven
It has, but that's ok. However, everyone, please remember to properly acknowledge whose lyrics they are. Any posts that do not comply will have to be removed.
My favorite Lryics are from My Chemical Romance- Jetset Life Gonna Kill You: Gaze into her killing jar I'd sometimes stare for hours. Sometimes stare for hours... She even poked the holes so I can breathe. She bought the last line. I'm just the worst kind, Of guy to argue with. What you might find. And for the last night I lie, Could I lie with you? [ Chorus: ] Alright. Give up. Get down. It's just the hardest part of living. Alright. She wants, It all to come down this time. Lost in the prescription she's got something else in mind. Something else in mind... Check into the Hotel Bella Muerte. It gives the weak flight. It gives the blind sight. Until the cops come. Or by the last light. And for the last night I lie. Could I lie next to you? [ Chorus ] x2 Pull the plug, But I'd like to learn your name. We're holding on. Well I hope you do the same, Awww, sugar. Slip into this tragedy, You've spun this chamber dry. [ Chorus ] x2 Pull the plug, But I'd like to learn your name. We're holding on. Well I hope you do the same. Ah Sugar
I have a lot of favorite song lyrics, but right now mine is Our Solemn Hour by Within Temptation. Sanctus espiritus (Holy Spirit/God) Redeem us from our solemn hour Sanctus espiritus Insanity is all around us Sanctus espiritus... Sanctus espiritus... Sanctus espiritus... In my darkest hours I could not forsee That the tide could turn so fast to this degree Can't believe my eyes, how can you be so blind? Is the heart of stone, no empathy inside? Time keeps on slipping away and we haven't learned So in the end, now what have we gained? Sanctus espiritus Redeem us from our solemn hour Sanctus espiritus Insanity is all around us Sanctus espiritus Is this what we deserve, can we break free? From chains of never-ending agony Are they themselves to blame? The misery, the pain Didn't we let go? Allowed it, let it grow If we can't restrain the beast which dwells inside It will find it's way somehow, somewhere in time Will we remember all of the suffering 'Cos if we fail, it will be in vain Sanctus espiritus Redeem us from our solemn hour Sanctus espiritus Insanity is all around us Sanctus espiritus Is this what we deserve, can we break free? From chains of never-ending agony Musical break and guitar solo... Sanctus espiritus Redeem us from our solemn hour Sanctus espiritus Insanity is all around us Sanctus espiritus Is this what we deserve, can we break free? From chains of never-ending agony Sanctus espiritus Redeem us from our solemn hour Sanctus espiritus Insanity is all around us Sanctus espiritus Is this what we deserve, can we break free? From chains of never-ending agony God, I love that song!

We don't need no education We dont need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teachers! Leave them kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall.
I don't really have too many favorite song lyrics only because good ones aren't good in song and good songs aren't too great in lyrics if you know what I mean..... Idk, maybe I'm just too young or too lazy to anazlize good song lyrics right now, but there is one song that's hit close to home and music video that's hit me the hardest ever. I think anyone who's has that "thought" about killing themselves would probably just shed a tear or two because of this video: YouTube - Collective Soul - The World I Know (Video) It's so weird how it can be horrible, and terrible and sad, yet beautiful and gorgeous and happy at the same time. I think that's what a brillant music video does. Gives you all these emotions packed into one and that's what it did. You can practically see and feel the breaking point on that man's face and get sucked into his world...it's so freaking weird and amazing...
This is not the thread I was looking for but it'll work. Good lyrics! (not sure how to do this) by Marilyn Manson "Killing Strangers" This world doesn't need no opera We're here for the operation We don't need a bigger knife Cause we got guns, we got guns, we got guns We got guns, you better run (you better run, you better run, you better run) We're killing strangers, we're killing strangers We're killing strangers, so we don't kill the ones that we love We pack demolition, we can't pack emotion Dynamite? We just might... So blow us a kiss, blow us a kiss Blow us a kiss, we'll blow you to pieces We got guns, we got guns Mother fuckers better, better, better run We got guns, we got guns Mother f*ckers better run You better run Cause we got guns! Cause we got guns! We got guns!
"Some guy on the net thinks I suck, and he should know, he's got his own blog". A Working Day, Ben Folds.
From 'The River' Bruce Springsteen "Then I got Mary pregnant and man that was all she wrote for my 19th Birthday I got a union card and a wedding coat we went down to the courthouse and the judge put it all to rest no wedding day smiles, no walk down the aisle no flowers, no wedding dress."
Well, at the end of your life, you're lucky if you die. Sometimes I wonder why we even try. I saw a man lying on the street half-dead with knives and forks sticking out of his leg. And he said “Ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow-ow Can somebody get that knife and fork out of my leg, please? Can somebody please remove these cutleries from my knees? - Flight of the Conchords, "Issues"
This'll date me, but I've always thought Janis Ian is more poet than songwriter. At Seventeen Janis Ian I learned the truth at seventeen That love was meant for beauty queens and high school girls with clear skinned smiles who married young and then retired The valentines I never knew The Friday night charades of youth were spent on one more beautiful At seventeen I learned the truth And those of us with ravaged faces lacking in the social graces desperately remained at home inventing lovers on the phone who called to say - come dance with me and murmured vague obscenities It isn't all it seems at seventeen A brown eyed girl in hand me downs whose name I never could pronounce said - Pity please the ones who serve They only get what they deserve The rich relationed hometown queen marries into what she needs with a guarantee of company and haven for the elderly Remember those who win the game lose the love they sought to gain in debentures of quality and dubious integrity Their small-town eyes will gape at you in dull surprise when payment due exceeds accounts received at seventeen [Nice turn of phrase.] To those of us who knew the pain of valentines that never came and those whose names were never called when choosing sides for basketball It was long ago and far away The world was younger than today when dreams were all they gave for free to ugly duckling girls like me We all play the game, and when we dare we cheat ourselves at solitaire Inventing lovers on the phone Repenting other lives unknown that call and say - Come dance with me and murmur vague obscenities at ugly girls like me, at seventeen
It doesn't go away. I can still remember the thrill when, in my twenties, mind you, I was chosen first for a pickup football game.
Black Label Society Scars Say your peace, for I'll be on my way One last look, nothing left to say As I turn my back, to walk away I shall forgive, but I won't forget that day For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend When lies become the truth Well, you've got your beliefs No burdens on your mind They're buried beneath your feet As I turn my back, to walk away I shall forgive, but I won't forget that day For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend As I turn my back, to walk away I shall forgive, but I won't forget that day For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend For every sky that shines Shall meet the pouring rain For my will shall never break though it may bend Like the scars that heal yet never mend
In The Summer Time: Shaggy and so, We say what we want and We say what we need And we love everybody And we do as we please And when the weather is fine, We go fishin' We go fishin' in the sea We are happy to live life That's our philosophy
I've recently begun listening to the Used again, and their song "The Bird and the Worm" has entirely visceral and haunting lyrics which I didn't give them credit for in my youth. He crawls like a worm from a bird.
Ah, the laughter of the lovers As they run through the night Leaving nothing for the others But to choose off and fight And tear at the world with all their might While the ships bearing their dreams Sail out of sight The Pretender - Jackson Browne
I've been told that a person needs to use drugs to like this band's music, but I'm the greenest person there ever was - I wouldn't even dare buy a packet of cigarettes - and I love this song. My favourite bit is in bold. And I Wish I Were Stoned - Caravan Once I had a dream, nothing else to do Sat and played my mind in time with all of you Got down in the road, crossed my heart and cried When you told me how you'd love to live and not to die Why, why, why? I wish I were stoned out of my mind Why, why, why, oh why? Dreamed I saw a man walked upon the sea Dreamed it once again and saw that he was me Looking close at me I looked a lot like you Knowing where to go but not quite what to do Why, why, why? I wish I were stoned out of my mind Why, why, why, oh why? Give me all your love in a smile And I'll tell you what I'm thinking Let me see the world through your eyes And I'll show you where I'm sitting Once I had a dream, nothing else to do Sat and played my mind in time with all of you Got down in the road, crossed my heart and cried When you told me how you'd love to kill and not to die Why, why, why? I wish I were stoned out of my mind Why, why, why, oh why? Give me all your love in a smile And I'll tell you what I'm thinking Let me see the world through your eyes And I'll show you where I'm sitting
Love Potion #9 (excerpt) by The Searchers ... She bent down and turned around and gave me a wink She said "I'm gonna make it up right here in the sink" It smelled like turpentine, it looked like Indian ink I held my nose, I closed my eyes, I took a drink I didn't know if it was day or night I started kissing everything in sight But when I kissed a cop down on Thirty-Fourth and Vine He broke my little bottle of Love Potion Number Nine ....
