    Feedback on Cover/Query Letters

Discussion in 'Support & Feedback' started by Sandfire, Sep 10, 2013.

So, I'm sorry if this is addressed in the FAQ, but I can't seem to get the FAQ page to load.

What is the proper forum for posting a query or cover letter we would like help or feedback on? I know I can't yet, but I don't want to do it in the wrong place when I can.

    Thanks!

A query letter would best be classified and non-fiction. However, some members have posted query letters for critique in the Novels forum (because query letters are sent for novel manuscripts).

Of course, to post anything for critique, you must meet the prerequistes laid out in the site rules,

seems to me they'd be most fitting in the publishing forum, though that's generally not for critiquing... 'novels' isn't any help for those who want to query/submit short stories/articles/essays to magazines...

this has been a glaring lack all along... other writing forums have sections in the workshop area for both queries and synopses, which are such a vital part of the writing/getting published process...

    daniel...
can't we please have either separate query and synopsis sections, or a combined one added to the workshop?... it makes no sense to me that we offer all forums for all aspects of writing only up to but not including how to get one's work published...

I tend to agree. Anyone else want to chime in?

If added, it'd probably function the same as the workshop as far as review requirements.

I'm convinced. I went ahead and added the sub-forum under the publishing forum. It'll follow the Writing Workshop critique rules. Writing Workshop critiques and Query/Cover letter critiques can apply to each other as if the new forum was a part of the Writing Workshop.
