I believe my esteemed colleague is attempting to convey by the means of the attributable "stinking man" the image or graphic portraiture of a male person, possibly of the species homo sapien, that has about them an odour that is maladorous.
But who is the stinking man? We had a stinking man come in the shop I used to work in years ago. My boss would mutter, God, imagine what his bed must be like... Sickening.
