Poor dolphin. It was probably pretty confused and panicked when it found itself on a boat. Oh, and if I were that pike, I would have bitten your friend too. Poor fishie.
Maybe it wanted to beach itself, and this was the next best thing? Something similar to this happened to my uncle and his ex-wife. They were out on their boat, and a barracuda jumped out of the water. It hit the dashboard, and broke off the key in the ignition. The coastguard had to come out and tow them back to shore.
