    Format Styles for phone #s

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by H D Harrison, Apr 13, 2015.

I have looked everywhere concerning the styles format for phone numbers. Here is my situation: I am writing a letter and want to use this format "Text # xxx-xxx-xxxx" as part of the address/email heading. I am hearing impaired (hard of hearing) and want people to "understand" that it means to text me by phone. So, I am leaning toward to using this: "xxx-xxx-xxxx SMS/Text only" or "Text/SMS #: xxx-xxx-xxxx"

The Chicago Style, AP Style or the Manual Style doesn't have something of that sort, so any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.

    I would go with:

    Text/SMS only: xxx xxx xxxx

Yeah, I would go with cutecat's approach. Seems clear.
