Can a Framing Narrative connect a collection of various stories? With the Framing Device being used, would this still be looked at as a short story collection or a full length novel?
It'd probably be looked at as a collection of short stories. I would consider The Knight's Tale and The Miller's Tales to be two completely separate stories, despite being back to back in The Canterbury Tales. I would also consider The Decameron a collection of individual stories.
