I wasn't made aware of this until today, but apparently there are freelance agents or agencies that help you find work. Is this a good idea? Does anyone have experience with this?
How much do they usually charge? How successful are they in finding work for writers? Those are the two questions that immediately come to mind.
If they charge for anything--reading your stuff, editing, promotion, anything--they aren't agents. Avoid them.
I have no experience with the topic, but this article made sense to me: http://www.ivetriedthat.com/2013/08/12/should-you-work-with-a-freelance-agency/
Great link BayView, thanks! Very informative. I'm considering joining an agency (after thorough research of course.) It allows more time to work, rather than spending lost of your time finding work as well.
