    Yes, I'm aware, and I do quite like the "dry narration" sort of humour - not laugh out loud, but still appreciable and entertaining, and is not as intrusive.

    All readers have different tastes. There have been some books I have read with some technically clever dialogue with lots of wittiness from all sides. But even that too gets tiring in excess, and I notice that nothing has actually happened for the past few pages except inane conversation and I do indeed think "enough's enough, let's get back to the book, please".

    But don't let me detract you.
