So upon the discovery that my b-e-a-utiful truck Aidan gets a mere 15 mpg on average, I am now searching for ways to improve this. Any tips?
Check tire inflation, make sure the engine is tuned up, plan your driving to avoid wasteful trips, try to keep speeds as constant as traffic permits. Good general maintenance helps too, like oil changes and air filter changes as needed.
At your service, Milady. My pick-up just started using a lot of oil. It was going down really slowly, but just since the beginning of the semester, it used two and a half quarts of oil. I hope it is not on its deathbed.
How many KM are on it? If the truck is used and you aren't sure about the mileage there is lots of little things you can do to improve it, the least of which might be: -Oil filter and change -Air filter change -Fuel filter change -Spark plugs In my old car these few things (about 50 bucks in parts) ended up netting me about 10 mpg. What kind of truck anyway?
Ford f150. and my dad did all the maintenance on it the other day. There's about 147,000 miles on it. Or so.
Hmm yeah if you're only driving in town you probably won't get much better than 15mpg. Trucks are bad news for fuel. My dodge only gets at best 21mpg and it's near brand new. Thats highway driving.
