That is I'm not merely saying hi to all living in Dublin, it's a general greeting to all on the site from me in Dublin; where I was born....and live...Hi Now what do i do? Pat
Fáilte, Pat! We're glad you've found our little neck of the cyberverse. Have a read through the Forum Rules to get you on a good start. Bain sult as an lá. Wrey
Ah my first greeting...Hi. I don't speak a word of Irish (long story) I will in time get stuck into the site, browse the forum rules etc. I basically need advice on how to improve my writings. Pat
our army of Dubs is growing... Cead Milé Fáilte Feel free to ask anything, in the meanwhile, build up 20 posts over 2 weeks and positively critique two other pieces of work; then you can put some of your work up to see what people think and hopefully help you along. Great site with great people and we're all here to get better so remember there's no such thing as a stupid question...
I have written a book series; however, I'm forever re-re-editing. I hope to upload some of it here when I have reached the required limit of posts and book comments. Can one recommend a read or is that not permitted? Don't want to tread on toes or get off on the wrong foot.
By 'Posts' does that mean separate from what I write here? Does saying 'Hi' or introducing myself to other members over twenty times count? when can I begin to read something?
Patience DubPat. Yes, those are technically posts, but you still have another week to go before being 14 days here. Instead of the frowned upon act of post padding, which while maybe you didn't mean to, it does look like you did, why not just relax and join in some existing discussions over the next week while you wait?
That's of course up to them. But if you think about it, it's not very fair to have your own work critiqued if you don't pay people back in kind by critiquing theirs. A lot of people come by, want to post something for comment, then leave. We'd rather have people who are more part of the community than that. It is a pretty minimal criteria. Your anxiousness says you are enthusiastic. That's a good sign.
Mucho gracias. Love looking at different styles and see are there any who actually write similar to me...if so...they in trouble The other site thrives on returning reads, comments and general chat.
