I joined a few days ago and have already read a lot of the messages. I was never interested in writing when I was younger and had no idea I was any good at it. I am in my fifties now (better late than never) and want to see if I can make a decent living by writing essays on a variety of topics. I have written over a hundred so far, and my goal is to publish a collection of them. I look forward to sharing ideas and experiences with people from all over the world. I live in Connecticut, a hundred plus miles from New York City.
Hi, aberdeen, and welcome to the forum! Please read the rules, participate, and have fun! It's good to see a new nonfiction writer here. We get lots of novelists and short story writers, but not very many essayists (though you will find a few). Having a variety of different kinds of writers around here helps!
