I just signed up here and think it will be a nice help in my writing, I hope to get some questions answered and make some new friends!! My name is Jen, and I have 2 girls, and I am an unpublished writer, I am working on a story now. I have never tried yet to publish anything because I have never had the chance to work on this "hobby" but I became disabled due to a bad accident 3 years ago, and have some time on my hands. We'll have to see where it takes me...... BTW the story I'm working on is a paranormal one, ghosts/poltergeists.
Hello Jen, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Review Room before you post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Hi Jen. I'm an unpublished author too. I like that statement, I'm using it! I always chose the ghost story above all else when I was little and have always had a soft spot for them even though I rarely get time to read into that genre nowadays. Did you see paranormal activity? Very freaky. I also recommend films/docs by the Booth Brothers and checkout Coast to Coast Am if your interested. Take care, welcome to the forum

After my accident I have been a lot more optimistic, and I figure if I say I am an unpublished author, than I will be working towards getting something published. lol LOVED Paranormal Activity, and have been watching all kinds of ghost type movies. Some are REALLY bad and so obvious... I will have to check out The Booth Brothers and Coast to Coast Am. Thanks for the tip!!
Hi Jen I love ghost stories, can't wait to read yours, I am currently writing one about two ladies. I have three little ones, for me the idea of being a writer is a new one. I love your optimism.
