Good News--Two Sales of Short Fiction

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by TWErvin2, Nov 2, 2008.

    WritingForums Folks,

The last month has been pretty good. Sure I've had a couple rejections, but I also sold two short stories.

"The Scene of My Second Murder" went to Fear and Trembling and
"Seconds of Eternity" was accepted by Aberrant Dreams.

It'll be some months before either appears online (and even longer to appear in AD's print anthology).

    Hey All,

Thanks. I'll let you know when the stories are available online.

Counting royalties from the Distant Passages II anthology, This'll be the first year I easily clear my writing expenses--ink, paper, postage, envelopes, etc. (if the checks arrive before Dec 31).

    Ooo how exciting!

I really want to read your stuff now.
Do you have to be living in america or over 18 to send your work to those publishers?
and do you send by email or post?

Just wanted to know for reference in the future hehe.

    Well done! x

    Ashleigh,

No, you don't have to be in the United States to send your work to those markets--or for the vast majority of markets, actually.

You'd have to be able to sign a contract (or someone on your behalf) as the markets do pay (Fear and Trembling = Flat Rate of $5.00 and Aberrant Dreams pays 3 cents per word up to $100 max).

    Good luck when you submit!

    Terry
