    Grammar books

Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by Frederik, Dec 26, 2010.

    Hello,

My name is Frederik and I am from Denmark.
I was wondering, if any of you guys no some grammar books
    equal to: grammar.ccc.comment.edu/grammar/index2.htm

I you know any grammar book that have all the reference they have
in the website I have link.
    - And of course it should be at English the language of the book, and the
grammar should, if you can find any, at English or American - both are best! :)

    Yours sincerely,

    Frederik :)

To pound an old favorite and staple of much of the writing community, The Elements of Style by William Strunk and E.B. White.

that's not going to help him much, sid, since he needs to learn basic english grammar first... what he needs is a book version of the grammar site i sent him to, but i'm not familiar with good grammar texts for esl students... do you know of any?

Yeah, you're right I wasn't thinking clearly mamammaia.

"The Blue book of Grammar and Punctuation, by Jane Straus might be a better place to start.

I had, Maia, but I cannot find anything I really think could be useful. And I really want some of you to come with some suggestion of a good grammar book at english and of course about the english grammar and writing! :)

    - But do you remember the file I once sent to you? It was a PDF-file. A grammar reference? Was it good enough just for the english grammar? I know that it's only about that, and not the American edition.

Anyway, which grammar book is the most populair in England? :) And which is the best of the best? :p
