Greetings inmates. What you don't think life's a prison, it is. You are some alien deity somewhere that had your powers suspended, memories erased, and subject to a sentence of a certain term of "life". Most get the causal "50-70" years but if you did something completely horrifying you could be sentenced to life of "100" or more years. Oh and that thing you know as fiat. It's not fiat, its just you being permitted to live a miserable life. Death, death is where you see the parole hearing board and they determined if you've learned anything. The light at the end of the tunnel is just a stop light to direct the flow of ungodly traffic. Most people get sent back to earth within the first 3 months of release. This will be my thrid "20-25" year sentence which is about to end right now. {Squish.} Wouldn't that be something if it were true! Hi, I'm Justin the resident evil sci-fi specialist. No I'm not lying... I specialize in writing evil works of science fiction. They're so evil that they wind up being "black bagged" or worse sentenced to perpetual "shredding." Ok, so they don't stink that bad. Well, I suppose that's where you come in. Your red tipped poison pen waiting to thrash the hope and dreams of a newbie writer on such a majestic forum. Your goal is to ensure this writer learns his place... and at the best possible scenario: leaves the pen for the more experienced author. I can hear your thoughts now: "Kill him. Kill him, quickly. Destroy him before he floods us with sarcastic nonsense about how he 'thinks' the world is run." I quiver to think what could happen if I dare post one of my writings to such a crowd that would kill Shakespeare if they could. Which by-the-way would have been great, to avoid reading such tragedies as his mind could produce. This is me, enjoy! P.S. Woman who are pregnant or nursing should consider not reading while they are nursing. People with ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) have already clicked away so the warning here isn't going to help you. People suffering from LBD (Lazy Butt Disorder) should have considered saving their clicking energy on a much different post, seeing as you just wasted minutes of your life you'll never get back. Sarcasm is not for everyone and should be taken in moderate doses. Consult your resident psychiatrist if problems of anxiety and fear persist.
Hi Justin! Welcome to the forum Wow, that's an introduction if I've ever read one. I'm not entirely sure what to make of it. Should I laugh, cry, or crawl into a ball under my desk? lol. You seem to have an interesting way with words, so I look forward to seeing what you post. Good luck with your writing!
Welcome to Writing Forums, Justin! I hope you find what you're looking for here, whatever your interests in writing. This forum aims to provide the best workshopping resources on the internet, and to that end we have a few rules which you should familiarise yourself with before you get stuck in. The main section of the site is the Writing Workshop, where members can post their writing in order to receive critique of their work. However, before we allow members to post their work, they must have met some basic requirments. Firstly, you must have been a member for fourteen days, and have made twenty posts on the forum overall (please note, posts in Word Games do not count towards this). This is so that members, when they post their work, have familiarised themselves with the forums and contributed to them (as well as hopefully learned something for themselves). Secondly, members must provide two constructive reviews of other people's work for each piece of their own that they wish to post. This is because we believe that the focus of workshopping should be equally upon giving reviews as receiving them, as they allow a writer to practice and improve their editing skills, which they can then apply to their own writing. Beyond the Writing Workshop, you will find that we have extensive forums for discussion of aspects of writing, as well as a community area for general discussion. We also run periodic short story and poetry contests, which are good for challenging yourself and expanding your skills. If you have any questions or problems, then the moderators (myself and Cogito) should be your first port of call. Any technical problems with the site itself should be directed to Daniel, the site administrator and owner. I would recommend you have a look over the rules so that you know what to expect, and what is expected. But aside from that, I hope you enjoy your time here. Banzai
