    Greetings! :)

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by NewEnterprise, Jan 21, 2015.

    Greetings!

I'm a 21 year old history student from Australia who's been reading and writing on-and-off since before I can remember, but am pretty new to the whole online forum scene [IMG]

I have had a go in the past at uploading short stories and the like, but I'm only now getting stuck into more writing (I finally have more time on my hands) and this site stuck out as a pretty cool one to sign up for!

Looking forward to reading lots of stories and maybe even offering some of my own humble critiques on occasion [IMG]

    Thanks!

Welcome to the forum. :) Do you happen to write historical fiction?

Here's our New Member Guide to get you started. :)

    Hope to see you around!

I have dabbled in all sorts of stuff, but historical fiction and fantasy are my favourites :)

A few years back I had a go at writing a historical fiction set in France around the time of the Third Crusade (fun!) and I've also enjoyed writing pieces set in 19th and 20th century contexts :)

I do like some magic and dragons though!

    Thanks for the welcome

Welcome! I'm no historian but I always found the third crusade to be the most interesting.

    Me too :)

I've read a few fantastic books that are set during that time (by Robyn Young) that really fired my imagination.

    Most interesting time

yeah, anything with sieges I enjoy. There were a lot of epic ones and interesting strategies during that time as well. I take my class on a yearly field-trip to this armory, and it has tons of armor and weapons from back then. Some really cool/strange stuff.
