Hello, this is animefans12! *Bows down* I am a new member here and recently joined in. I came to this site when I searched in Google: Writing Forums. Well, I've joined forums before, but I've been having these thoughts about joining in a writing forum where I can share some of my writings besides my English teacher only. (Sad fact there) I'm Asian (yes... I know), half Vietnamese and Chinese. Born in the good ol' USA and currently reside in Florida. I've began writing a couple of years ago when I was in 7th grade, but after a long hiatus... This year, I've began writing once again. Inspired by my English teacher, who is also an author and Lynne Hansen (whom I met personally). I'm an otaku (as you can see from my username and those of you wondering what my favorite anime is... It's Ergo Proxy. ) and I am also a musician. I play the flute for about five years (this year being my fifth), the piccolo for two years, the piano for seven years, tenor sax for two years, and the electric guitar for a year. I am in Marching Band, Concert Band and Jazz Band. Enough with my jibberish talk now. Hope I'm not too much of a burden here and hope I can get along with all of you! ^^
Xin Chào animefans12, I have been living in Vietnam for 6 months now. What an excellent place, I advise you to visit at least once in your life. I'm new to writing and very new to the forum. I hope to see some of what you have written. Welcome, WT
I've visited Vietnam when I was three for a couple of months and it is indeed, an awesome place. (Even though my memory is blurry from that time) ^^ I wish to go back there and visit the rest of my family again sometime after I graduate high school. ^^ And thanks for welcoming me. This place is much nicer than I had expected. ^^
Hi! You're a girl of many talents but what do you write about? I watch anime from time to time but it's really hard for me to find what I'm looking for so I'm just listening to the asian music. I wish I was so good at playing piano, though, I can only play by hearing >.>;
Hello AF, Welcome to the Creative Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Writing Workshop before you try to post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here anyway. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Writing Workshop, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Writing Workshop, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. We also impose a two-week waiting period before you may post writing for critique, to give you time to become familiar with what is expected and how the site operates. The Writing Workshop forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Writing Workshop forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
I use to have a lot of time watching anime, but I don't hit upon anime and manga that much like before. I'm not truly a freak at anime, but rather a fan of it. ^^ And asian music are awesome. ^^ I write many different kind of genres, but I like to hit at the action/drama/horror genre more. ^^ You can play the piano by hearing?! That's amazing! I wish I had that kind of ability... I can only play music when there's a music sheet in front of my face. The only exception of memorizing my music is for marching band. ^^;
*bows* Greetings, and welcome to our humble home. The cake's to the left, drinks to the right and random insanity all around us.
