Even though my title is in German, I'm only part German and I'm just learning the language. So, hello everyone! My writing information is on my profile, and if anyone is interested go ahead and add me to your messenger contact lists because I love meeting new people and would love to get to know some other fellow writers! My friend who I knew from another forum told me about this place and I had to come check it out. I have wanted for a long time to be a member of a forum that would appreciate my poetry and stories.
Hi there, Jamien! Welcome to WF! You can post your poems and stories in the appropriate sections of the Review Room, but you have to give thorough reviews on two pieces of work before you can post a piece. Forum policy. Anyhow, have a great time, and feel free to PM me whenever you like!
Hallo and welcome! From this moment on, using 'Hello' over 'Hallo' is blasphemy in all ways, shapes, and forms. What? You agree wholeheartedly? Good! I, too, am part German, though I live in Canada. I'd say about... 1/3..ish. Though I've never made a move to learn the language, I suppose I should try one day. Ever have any questions, You're probably better off asking someone whos been here longer than me, but I'll do my best to help if you ask Have a good time roaming the forums, -Justen 'Remm Kah'Sahn' Hochheimer
Guten abend, Jamien, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
