Hi, I'm writing a fantasy novel about a main protagonist who's she is half-human and half-mud humanoid, have abilities to shapeshift at certain parts of her body and even heal by using the muck for herself or to others. She has taken the role of a maidservant by using the skill of combat and servant healer to others (like I said). I picture her as long chocolate brown hair, same colour to her eyes, victorian maid, short skirt for her brown pantyhose (like is part of mud) and leather boots. Questions, Ideas or even suggestions (Got an idea to name a mud humanoid?)
Given she can shape shift parts of her body and clay can be brittle, what happened when it breaks? Does it reabsorb? If she can't reabsorb does her body mass shrink? Can she then make up mass from absorbing other clay sources? Does it hurt her if it breaks? How does it react to being out in the sun? Or caught in a rain storm/going swimming?
Clay is different on mud people. It's have same temperature a human blood, so they able to go on dry land (around 60°c/Hot, to -20°/Cold) and can swim. Note: mud is not blood of the races, even though it have brown-ish colour.
