Happy New Year to all of you! I hope that it's a great one! I plan on dedicating my year to a "Year of Creativity."
And a happy new year to all from me, too. Mine has been interesting so far. I got a phone call on the 28th December from social services to tell me that my son's estranged partner had been arrested for recklessly endangering and neglecting their kids (aged 2 and 1) and that they wanted to place the kids with us. So twenty years after I thought I was finished with it, I'm back to sleepless nights and nappy (diaper) changing. It means I'm spending less time here than I would like -- do I hear cries of joy from the assembled crowd?
Eek, good luck with that Sir. I am sure you will fall into old rhythms and habits then all will be well soon enough.
It's only supposed to be until a "long-term solution" is found. But I suspect that as long as social services are content that the children are safe they will keep getting pushed to the back of the priority list.
