Hello from rain lashed Sittingbourne, the slurry in the compost heap in the supposed "Garden of England." The only real writing experience comes in the form of writing scenarios for role playing games and report writing for work. One scenario which was published bore a remarkable resemblance to a couple of connected scenarios I had done about a year and a half previously, but I suppose that is a common story. I have tried writing short stories a few times in the past but always gave up due to them being decidedly ...... err, not good enough. I'm 50 years old, married with two teenage kids, cannot think of anything else relevant. Oh. I just hate text talk. I don't consider myself to be a grammar or spelling nazi, but a decent level of Inglish - it ain't 2 much to ask 4, innit?
Welcome. We have a special offer today where each new member recieves free gummi bears and a smashing hat! Enjoy your stay (The mints under the pillows arn't free).
Thanks for the welcome - just one thing though, can I have an extra hat as I don't like Gummi Bears. Hats though ..... now they are another thing entirely
awe shoot, I guess I owe you then. How much? oh and welcome Normski. Don't gedt too worried about the spiders crawling about the room.
Hello Normski, Welcome to the Writing Forums. We actively discourage netspeak around here. After all, this IS a writing site! If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome to WF.org I hope that you have a most wonderful and pleasant time here with all of us. Torana
