Hello, everyone! My name is Betty Wojtowicz and I live in Soddy Daisy, TN (just north of Chattanooga) with my husband and very spoiled cats. I'm writing a western historical novel, set in the late 1870s. It's about a Boston socialite who runs away to escape a forced marriage. She ends up in a small town in the New Mexico Territory, where she finds adventure and meets the love of her life. I'm currently working on revisions, after which I hope to submit my manuscript to a developmental editor and possibly, beta readers. I plan to go the traditional publishing route.
Welcome. I was so charmed with the name Soddy Daisy that I had to go online and find out more about it.
It has an interesting history. Two smaller communities, Soddy and Daisy, joined forces and became a city to avoid being annexed by the city of Chattanooga. People who've grown up around here will ask if you live in Soddy or Daisy. We're relative newcomers (18 years). It's one of the fastest-growing communities in Hamilton County. The road we live on used to be very rural, but it's getting built up. Jon and I think it's getting too crowded. We bought some acreage in Sequatchie County and plan to build there early next year.
