    Hello, my name is:

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by wendymoiraxx, Mar 29, 2008.

    Hey everyone!
I'm Mallory. I'm an 18-year-old student journalist toying with degrees in journalism, English and photography. I just can't decide!

I write poetry, songs and a lot of fiction. I do some RPing now and again and . . .yeah! I'm really rusty at these things. So I'ma go now, but you'll see me around I'm sure! Great to meet you all!

    Hello and welcome to WF.

Hah, yeah, good luck with the decision making. I keep changing my mind about that about once a month - and hey, I still have over a year before having to decide.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing your writing up, hope you enjoy WF :)

Hello Mallory, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

While you may need to decide at one point about your major and your career, that does not mean you must discard your olther interests.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

I'm a Journalism/English major. Right now I have a Major in Journalism and a minor in Literature, but I might double major. You could consider doing something like that.
