My name is Kevin Bozard, and I am the author of two self published novels. Currently I am in the editing process of my third novel, and writing my fourth. While I am self-decidedly against self publishing (because of my experiences with it), I am not totally against it as a way to get at least your first novel in print. Especially for anyone who's spent years collecting rejection slips, and waiting for that rare opportunity of having a traditional publisher ring your telephone. I haven't given up on traditional publishing as of yet, but I've seen it become harder and harder for an "unknown" aspiring writer to break through the slush piles atop an agents desk. I've bumped elbows with some popular mid-list writers over the years and even some of those are either pursuing the self publish route, or have stopped writing all together because of various reasons, which include being dropped by their agents, publishers etc... for more established names. Mingling with like minded individuals is what I consider an important part of being a writer, and I look forward to meeting and trading thoughts with anyone here that is willing to lend an ear to further the cause.
