So I joined about a week ago I think and finally found the 'introduce yourself' thread today. Or last night. I don't recall. I'm writing a novel. Surprise! Despite a trail of incomplete attempts over the years, on this occasion I am properly motivated by circumstance to do it properly and finish it. It's fairly early days. About three weeks in I believe. I had a couple of intensely productive days at the idea/character development leading to revised synopsis, and another or three. Wrote a few scenes burning their way through my brain and have now settled down to start from the beginning and get through it. I joined mainly to ask questions and generally peruse for useful information. I'll be trying not to use the forums as a way to procrastinate, something I'm far too skilled at. Kitti
If you finish, you'll have gotten a lot further than many people. Just knowing that you can finish a novel is valuable. Forums are great for procrastination. In some ways, it must have been easier when authors had to sit at a desk with a typewriter and a stack of blank pages, with only a landline to communication with the outside world.
Hi Kitti, I hear you - this place is a procrastinator's paradise so beware! Or, y'know, don't fight it...Either way, there's some great stuff to be found around here so enjoy x R
