Heyy everyone. I'm new here in Writing Forums [Obviously] And am looking forward for a long stay here. =D I have actually wrote a book, just for fun. [About 2 years ago] And since then, have never ever successfully written another one. I would really like to write again though! So, I would try.
Hiya JD, welcome to the forums, what genres do you prefer to read/write? what genre was the book you wrote? and when are we going to see some off it?
Hi there. =) I write those crappy dialogue types. The book I wrote is basically just like, an exaggeration and some extra added bits of real events that happened to me and my friends. It's not really a real book, but it's still a story. I really like writing those type of books... And maybe, someday soon I'll succeed in writing another one. [I hope] How bout you? Guessing from you name...fantasy type stories? [EDIT] My last book, the finished one was thrown away by an aunt of mine, because she thought I don't want it anymore.
Hey JD (what should I call you?), I'm Hedge. Nice to meet you! We aren't that fa apart, I'm 13, you're 14, but anyways what do you like to read and write and listen to? Let me know, and we should talk sometime.
Heyy Hedge. You can call me Duxxy or JD. [They're just my nicks] Or maybe if you prefer, you can call me by my real name, Joey. =) Nice to meet you too! Yea, I'm turning 15 in Dec though. Sure thing, I like meeting new friends. I like reading real life/diary styled books and I write stories that are basically real events happening in my life with a bit of exaggeration. xD I just listen to anything that's on. A little bit of everything. How bout you?
Yes, you love to brag about that, don't you? I write satire-realistic fiction with usually a mystery-driven plot, and I like to read anything that's good, but realistic-fiction/satire is fun or even the occasional Utopian Fiction. As for music, I am an Indie-Rock guy, myself. But the music I play manifests into Indie-Electronic, Electronic, Alternative, Accoustic-Rock. My friends absolutely hate my taste in music, but that's something they'll just have to live with. How's Australia? It's mid-morning right here in sunny ol' Charleston, SC, U-S-of-A!
Mmm...Australia's quite good. Apart from the swine flu case happening right now. And also the crazy Melbourne weather. =P Okayy...it's not good. xD Swine flu is spreading fast over here. The weather is crazy. It's freezing in some days and quite sunny in some. Ahhh, it's night time over here. Almost 11 pm.
yeah i do, im usually the youngest and its nice to be older than someone yeah i like fantasy i have tried realistic fiction but didnt realy turn out good but i would love to have another go. i have also written a monologue that i am quite proud of.
Hello JD, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be among the very first things you do here. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
