    Help! I know this word but can't spell it!

    Discussion in 'Word Mechanics' started by TheWingedFox, May 12, 2015.

    I feel so ashamed....I know the word, have heard it used, but just cannot find the correct spelling online. It's infuriating!

    Anyway, it means 'idiosyncrasy, oddity, quirk' (as far as I remember hearing it used) and I thought it would be spelled like;

    prolivicality

    But that's wrong, and every permutation I try is wrong. Maybe it's all in my imagination.....

    I'm sure my SOS will be answered by you fine, and intelligent, people.

    ETA: I think you're wanting it to have one more syllable than it actually does. ;)

    Thank you, Wreybies....I can sleep sound now.:)

    I do have a 'proclivity' to add more syllables than needed. I think it's because I like a word that sounds good to be spoken longer....:bigwink:
