Hi, I'm stuck with my plot and have NO IDEA how to proceed. You see, there's this guy who lives alone in a house with a dog and a cat. He has lots of guns and he's decorated his living room with a large flag. He keeps mostly to himself, and seems to easily get annoyed with his neighbours. There are rumours that he belonged to some kind of special forces when he was young, but these days he mostly sits and writes when he's not walking his dog. What I want to know is, do you think I should ask him for help with my plot?
He sounds like an interesting plot all of his own - is he a character or a real bloke that lives near you ? What is he like as a person ?
Sorry, I'm terribly confused... Either the guy is real and you want to ask him advice Or he is your character and you're talking about him metaphorically... Please, clarify
I guessing, your stuck with your plot and there is this guy that lives near you. And you want to ask this guy for his opinion?
If this is real life I would love to see you write this as fiction. It is right up your street and young author goes to see a slightly kooky old guy.
Whenever you are stuck, ask yourself, "What is the worst thing that can happen to my protagonist (besides dying)?" Make it happen. Then figure out a way for him to get out of it. Repeat as needed.
^^ This thread is a satire on the people who post stuff along the lines of "please help me write by committee." And I like it. Nice post.
yes, mallory... it was pretty clear to me from the start, that islander is just poking fun at the slew of 'help me come up with a plot' posts by folks who see themselves as writers, but apparently have no clue that actual writers actually write their own stuff...
yeah only now we want to see the story lol He is so good I know he can pull this one off The characters he details are perfect for his dialogue and character abilities.
