Hello People, Your help would be appreciated. I've just bought Final Draft and am keen to get my play typed up in this format. But I'm a bit of an idiot when it comes to computers. Does Final Draft have a template for plays? How does it know I wish to type a play? Am I mad? Love Clare
final draft has a template for film, tv and several versions of theatrical scripts... go to 'file' at far left of top bar... click on 'new from stationery' and a pop-up window will open with a menu of templates... that said, there is no single 'standard' format for theatrical scripts... i've written plays and a musical book/script and i mentor playwrights along with all other writing breeds, so email me if you'd like help with this... love and hugs, maia maia3maia@hotmail.com
Thank you very much, Maia. I have now found the template, I'm going to use Stageplay. You mentor playwrights? I would really appreciate your help. I'm staring at the screen and not really sure what to do. Like I said, I found the Stage play template (there were two?) but I need more of a shove in the right direction before I can re-type my play into the template.
yes, i do... and i'll be happy to give you a hand with this... send me a brief synopsis of your play and the first couple of pages you've written so far, so we can get started... fd actually has several stage script formats, so you may want to take a look at the others, before deciding which you like best... hugs, maia
