    Help Writing Media programs?

Discussion in 'Research' started by JKG1069, Dec 1, 2009.

Hey everyone, I just kind of googled writing forums and found this site.

I'm writing a tv spec of an hour long special of a cartoon, and finished. Now I'm in the process of my last rewrite before I send it in, and I had a few questions.. Maybe you can help me answer? Or direct me to a place that can answer them.

1)For an hour long special, do you follow the three act rule or are there 6 acts or more now?

    2) How long do I write each scene(s) between each commercial break?

    3) How many commercial breaks are there?

    4) I'm assuming I evenly space out every commercial break to the exact time?

I can't get ahold of any scripts for the tv show, but it is a cartoon anyway and 15 minute commercial-free increments so it is really hard to judge with commercials. And, I'm going off of another spec of it to model the formatting after, so I'm really hoping they used a real script to model theirs after.
