    Henry Rifles Commercial

Discussion in 'The Lounge' started by Jabby J, Dec 8, 2011.

Kind of funny when I catch a "Made in USA" Rifle commercial and the website address is henryrifles.com/187. I sincerely hope it's a coincidence...

Nice guns, of course now that I looked at the sight I want, well all of them. I really like that Mares leg one, it looks like a blast to shoot. I just wonder if its legally a SBR or a pistol.
A 187 is a slang term for a murder based of the California penal code.

Generally I buy them. That’s how I have nice guns. :p
The guns are nice because of their design and function. Henry makes a high quality product. They are accurate for their design and have good crisp triggers. Also I like lever action rifles, they are essay to carry in the field and are very quick to deploy. Plus most guns that work are nice. For me the measure of a guns niceness is how well it fits its purpose. Plus I would like to add a one to my collection. Plus there is the fun factor, these are fun rifles. You can hunt with them if you want, but they are used a lot for the range too. Also the 22 rifles they have there are a ball. a friend of mine has one and it is a joy to shoot.
A 187 is street slang for a murder.

Yes woodcock are edible, and actually quite good. And yes there are wild turkeys; the domesticated ones had to come from somewhere right? The wild turkey unlike its domesticated cousin retains the ability to fly and a brain.

Well the tone of the thread was suppose to be snobishly ironic, but a thread about hunting turkeys is cool too. The funny thing about the 187 is that some would also consider that hunting turkeys... you can't escape the irony! That is unless you don't know what 187 means... in that case enjoy the hunting talk. I'm sure Henry Rifles didn't think about the 187.

I thought henry rifles were outdated by the time the early 1900s rolled along.

I am ready to be educated by you fine, historically-educated people. 8D

To tell you the truth I never imagined a turkey can be hunted.
It is like me imagining a chicken being hunted.
It deos not enter my equation for some reason.

Seriously? How do you think our ancestors used to get their food? Every animal we take for granted nowadays used to have to be hunted. And all of them still can be hunted. In fact a lot of people like wild game more. It tastes better than factory farmed animals.

Actually turkeys are among the cagiest of birds or fowl and pretty difficult to hunt. I prefer feral hogs with a black powder rifle made by Thompson Center in a 50 caliber.
