Hey everyone! Brand new, of course and trying to figure things out still. I'm getting the hang of places to post (kinda) and prolly gunna be looking for help along the way. I'm notorious for trying to write novels and stopping in the middle. Either because I come up with new Ideas and start writing new stories or I find myself stuck with writers block. I have about 28? stories started and only one of them (a short story) finnished. The only reason for it being finnished was the small fact it had to be done for school. None-the-less I am attempting to turn it into a novel so it may have more depth and such. Maybe (if I figure everything out) I'll get them posted. I like to share my work and think it's fun writing. I have a few intersting stories started... now I need to finnish them. I thought, to help me finnish, I'd join a site that would have people that could encourage or help me along the way. Hope to meet lots of people!
Plot Creation will help a lot with that stopping in the middle and Character Development will help with (duh) characters If you have any questions, feel free to PM myself I can help ya out. Hope you like it here.
Lol yeah, Well the stopping in the middle is mostly cause I have a wild imagination and suddenly I come up with a seperate story all together and then I get sidetracked with that story. Or the fact I have a very short attention span and tend to jump from writing stories, games, reading and then other things or right back to stories. Other then that, I don't really get stuck with my writing or where to go with it. It's just all about writing it out, taking the time and getting it done. I know where I want everything to go, and the first things I do when writing a story is come up with the characters how they will grow, in and out of the story, and how they will impact anything in the type of story I will create.... I like my characters alot....
Hello Black Moon, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Have you considered writing some short stories? they require a lot less long term commitment than novels, and you can explore more ideas to completion. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome! I can relate to a lot of the 'problems' you're having, lol. I also have trouble finishing stories... and have been teased before for having a bit of a crush on one of my characters... Anyway, nice to meet you and I look forward to seeing your work around the site!
Thanks! it's great to be here, usually I join something like this and I get no response at all. I like this place and I hope to stay for a while. (as long as we internet, not sure how often I can even get on)
Heya, glad to see you decided to introduce yourself Good to meet you and hope to see more of you about the forums. Welcome.
Hello Black-Moon and welcome to the site. I am Heather and can usually be found on here at least once a day so if you would ever like anything reviewing, need any help or just want to chat then send a message my way and I'll be happy to help. And unfprtuantly, writers block is something everyone struggles with from time to time, I know I have never finished a longer peice myself for varous reasons. I hope to see you around more often. Heather
