Hello! I'm Jazz. I'm an aspiring writer, soon-to-be English teacher (moving to Japan in two weeks!). I used to be a member of a writing forum some years but I found the atmosphere quite toxic - there was no constructive criticism, just plain nastiness. It dented my confidence as a writer but I thought I'd give forums another go I've been browsing this one and it seems a) active, b) constructive and c) friendly so I hope I can be welcomed into your community
Welcome, Jazz! I think you're quite spot on with your observations here. Of course the occasional nastiness arises here (it has to eventually, right?), but this place is in general nice and friendly. Hi Jazz, welcome to the group! I've been on a few sites that got my blood boiling. I know the feeling. But I love it here. Everyone has been really helpful and supportive.

Thank you so much for the warm welcome! I can tell I'm going to enjoy my time here Yes, I'm leaving the UK in two weeks to spend a year teaching in Japan. I'm hoping it's going to give me lots of inspiration for my writing! I seem to have hit a dead end lately Thank you, though! I'm very nervous but, fingers crossed, I should be fine once I'm out there and settled
