Hi all, I'm Phantom...Phantom_Brainwash, but seriously I'll just go by Phantom, joined yesterday and lurked around a it to get a feel for the place, decided to announce my presence today. So, a little about me, I'm a wrimo, if you don't know what that means then you actually have a life, unlike the rest of us. A wrimo is a participant in NaNoWriMo, if you don't know what that is...I'm so sorry, you're missing out on something epic and wonderful and life-sucking and beautiful and fun and just generally the best month of every participants life (when they look back at it...). Being a wrimo means I have at least one book (just started participating last year) finished, but I acutally have two writen, editing them, two seconds away from locking them in a file to gather dust for the rest of all eternity. ANYWAY! On a much *happier* note, I'm also an amature actress, a stage crew warrioress, a sound board lady and...map editor, as well as a college student. So I'm fairely busy, but amongst all that, I always find the time to write. So that's a bit about myself ~Phantom
Thank ye! I might be a little too in love with Supernatural...okay, I can mimic most of Dean's expressions, and my friend (who is also addicted to supernatural) is nicknamed Sammy while I'm nicknamed Dean. ~Phantom
Yeah, my dad owns a map making company, I help with some of the work, technically I trace buildings from air photography to go into our software for emergency services. It's usually just easier to say map editor. ~Phantom
Why is it that you refer to yourself as female and your symbol says male? Maybe you should update your profile? Welcome!
Hello Phantom, Welcome to the Creative Writing Forums. Please read How to Use the Writing Workshop before you try to post there. Posting your own writing for people to comment on should not be among the very first things you do here anyway. It is worth taking the time to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. Also, be aware that posting a piece of writing on any public site, including this one, will greatly diminish your chances of selling it for publication. Removing the writing later does not alter that fact - once posted, it is irreversibly considered published. So do not post anything more than a small excerpt of any piece you are planning to submit for publication. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Writing Workshop, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Writing Workshop, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize constructive critique as a vital writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. We also impose a two-week waiting period before you may post writing for critique, to give you time to become familiar with what is expected and how the site operates. The Writing Workshop forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Writing Workshop forum). Also, please use the same thread for all revisions and additional excerpts from the same piece of writing. See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. And while you're looking around, don't forget to check out the RPG forum for improvisational fiction. Also try our Weekly Short Story Contest and Weekly Poetry Contest. They actually run more than one week apiece, but any member may enter, and all members are urged to vote for their favorites. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
was that an auto response? cause I still don't know how to change my gender and I've clicked on every link. ~Phantom
No it was not. As for changing your gender, it is slightly less diufficult than in the real world. You need to send a PM to Daniel. Only he can transgender you on this site.
I assumed it was an auto response because I actually watched you go through a bunch of topics in the intro thread, and since it sounded form letter I assumed the same message was posted in the other topics. (I may hang out here and hit refresh quite a bit...) ~Phantom
You're so lucky to have real life friends who love Supernatural as much as you do. I don't have that... Nobody understands... LOL. Nice to meet you.
