Hi folks... new to here but been writing for yonks

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by Maz Lang, Aug 8, 2018.

Hey, nice to meet you... I'm Maz and i'm really going to try and get my novel published in the next few months... thinking about going down self publishing route... I have a great book... needs some proof reading I guess... its a bio novel but I literally have no idea what to do or where to go with it... I had been writing poems for years and toyed with writing stories but this is an excellent idea I have and its really close to my own heart.. any help / advice would be most appreciated

    Thanks xx

    Hello
My first thought is it sounds to me like you will be working harder and for longer on this novel than you expect.
But what do I know. Keep at it :)

I didn't even know yonks could read. Oh, well. It seems every time someone new joins, I learn something.

Anyway, welcome! I'm the local squirrel. Good to meet you. ;)

    Did you mean yanks?
Because I'm pretty sure long periods of time can't read. Just, physically can't.

Welcome, i am sure you will enjoy yourself here.
If this is your first novel, don't be surprised if it takes a little longer than expected to get it ready ;-) (And by little, i mean a lot)
    Happy writing!

Well, she titled the thread "...writing for yonks," which I interpreted to mean that yonks were her intended audience -

You know what? If you have to explain a joke, don't. :p

I once had a high school teacher tell me, "If you're explaining, you're losing."

Anyways, welcome to our forum! Hope you find what you're looking for amongst the madness.
