Though I agree with @Xoic the dot can stand on its own. It is very symbolic in its own right, things coming to an end and such... It can also be representative of humanity's fight against nature and the universe, the black dot being our home planet and the white around it space itself, in a sort of reversal of colours. One could also argue that the dot is our never-ending struggle to create with very little. It can show us that even though we may lack a lot, we can still create something. Further extrapolation could generate meaning such as the typical dot on white background painting(s) which clutter modern art and sell for quiet a bit, to explain to us why such artwork can be worth anything. The value of art is that like the dot or what came before it, it can be destroyed. I could continue to articulate meaning about this dot until the end of my days, but I will not. Greetings @Livayan
