I'm new here and very excited to find this forum! I haven't done much writing lately due to a VERY busy life, but now that I'm ready to write again the forum I wrote on for so many years is much more inactive than it used to be. That led me to find you. :0) I love to write fiction and poetry, but my true passion is in interactive RPG writing. :0) I have a novel started and perhaps one day I will actually get it finished. I may post some of it for your review at some point. I have a healthy zeal for life and am always on the move. I'm a homeschool mom of 5 children and married to the man of my dreams. :0) (I just love my geek!) :0) I also own a business outsourcing writers to internet marketers and that's been really fun. :0) Anyway, just wanted to stop in and introduce myself since I've already gotten myself entangled in two rpg tales here. :0) ~Salinye
Ha, have you joined in already? Anyway, I'm jealous that you have the man of your dreams, but good for you, and welcome!
Hello Salinye, Welcome to the Writing Forums. Posting your own work should not be the very first thing you do here. It is really worthwhile to see what other people have done to improve their writing, and see if some of it applies to your writing as well. That is part of why we require members to review other members' work before posting their own for review. On the other hand, there are no restrictions, other than content and copyright rules, on showcasing your work in your member blog. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Hi all. I just wanted to say thanks for the warm welcome. :0) It's always nice to find a thriving writing community. ~Salinye
I'm a bit late too. But welcome! And that's cool that you homeschool. I've been homeschooled for most of my life too, along with my four siblings. It's the life. I look forward to seeing what you have to say!
