    Hi

Discussion in 'New Member Introductions' started by iDrew, Jan 30, 2008.

Hi I’m Justine but owing to my doodling habit everyone tends to call me Drew. I’m pretty new to writing and very new to forums so I’m a little scared. I live in England, have a really really boring job at my local supermarket, share a flat with my best friend Charlotte and my cat Mr. Snuggles. I’m not a stereotypical Essex girl although I am blonde with a pair of lovely

    blue eyes
and yes, I love clubbing but I don’t own a pair of white stilettos. lol.

Hello Drew, Welcome to the Writing Forums.

If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well!

As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information.

Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!

Thank you for your warm welcome and for helping me. I have started to try and comment on people’s work but I suppose because I’m not very confident with my own scribbles as yet I feel a little shy - not something I’m accused of in the real world <lol> and I have come here to learn. We all have to start somewhere. Baby steps.

lol. Don't mind hats he has a great sense of humor but knows when to get serious.

    Anyway welcome.
Trust me when I say we are only here to help. Judgements that are harsh are only for those who want it flat out. Most of the new members are shy. I say that from my own expierence but after a little while you look at reviews for other pieces and see what people are saying could make them better and you surely can learn that way.
You'll get comfortable the more you get to know people. Try to make a few friends that you can ask help from or if you want to talk with them about something.
It so helps. We really all welcome you though as writers we're in our own world most of the time.

If you ever need anything feel free to pm me or anyone that matter. Though the reviewers tend to be a little busy lately so making a few friends to ask opinions are the best ways to go (most of the time).

    Sincerely,
    Youngwriter_11311311
