Good evening. The name's Sophia, and I'm a 24-year-old college student from Italy. I'm an avid sci-fi/fantasy reader, and an anime craze - I guess you can call me that - as well as an hard-core fan of manga and japanese style RPGs. Ever since I was in middle-school I enjoyed writing, mainly short stories, but I've written some novels too - I'm afraid none of them are good enough to deserve to be read, though... I've joined this forum, well, because I find it a little boring writing all by myself, and also I felt I'd like to share my views with other writers, and also receive suggestions from someone other than me... Well, I hope I'll have a great time here with everyone else! PS Even though I'm Italian, the language I write in the most is English. I'd forgotten to say I'm studying foreign languages and I'm specializing in English, so, well, English comes to me more naturally than my own language when I write, for some reason...
Hello Sophia, Welcome to the Writing Forums. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Welcome to the forums Its glad to see so many new members and I hope you decide to stick around. If you have any questions then give us a shout and I look forward to seeing you around.
