Well I would consider myself a newbie for one reason. I have just started my first two attempts at serious writing. (Although one has become my favorite and I keep writing that one...) but since I was in second or third grade, I have loved to write. I still remember my first attempt at writing... LOL do NOT laugh... Ahem... it was about a cat and a dog. Who got married. And thier names were Maria for the cat, and Sparky for the dog. I can remember I was sooo proud I had written FOUR note book pages full! I didn't finish it, but I wish I still had it. It was so cute and just the thought of a doggy and kitty in a wedding... HEY! I told you not not laugh!!! OKay, I guess you can. It is pretty funny, huh? Anyway, lol. I still would consider myself a writer, but not a professional one. I'm a little short on time but I desperately want to know if I can post my work for you guys to read. I haven't had time to read all the rules, and I know there's a strict one against porn (ugh, I'd not post anything like that if my life depended on it. There are people's husbands and wives on here who don't need to look at that stuff! lol), but what about erotica? If my book has a sex scene, can I still post it for you guys to tell me what you think? The book is NOT about sex, but it's about vampire soulmates and (yes cliche but I don't mind because 1 it makes me happy to write it, and 2 people read that stuff! I'm always having to wait at the library because the vamp books are always checked out....) So, here is my bio on my profile page to make my posting time short. (And yes, I consider this SHORT. I am long winded.....) It explains what ya need to know about me! Age :26. Biography: Hi! So, I'm just another human being aspiring to become a writer like you! Well, maybe not like you, because you may already be a succesful writer. Then again, I am already a writer too, becuase I write, isn't that write? I mean, isn't that RIGHT? Just... let me start over. *Faceplant* Hi! So I'm just just another human being aspiring to become a succesful writer. (Yep! Much better!) I want people to love my books like they love Stephenie Meyer's books. I realize that in order to be that good of a writer, I NEED SUPPORT and people who are like minded. And of course I need to relate to people who are NOT like minded, because I want them to like my books too. So I am about to unleash myself on the world! Will you help me? Let's GO! Location: Spartanburg, SC Interests: READING! Writing! PLaying with my son and my Siberian Husky (she's basically a ball of black and white energy lol), spending time with my other family, nature, the internet (who doesn't love the net?), photography Career: Newborn Photographer Are you published? No Favorite Writers: Stephenie Meyer, Piers Anthony, Robin Cook, Patricia Cornwell, a few more... But i can pretty much get into any type of book written by anyone unless their writing style is absurd! Favorite Books: Twilight Series is my all time favorite. Because I love vampires. Isn't that cliche? Haha, well, I'm sure you're into something cliche without even realizing it. You like food? Everyone does! How cliche!!! But also I love the Xanth series by Piers Anthony with only one complaint. ALL those books are the same. But I still love to read them! I love animal books like White Fang and Call Of The Wild, and there are so many others, I can't really say! Favorite Quotes: "Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass, it's about learning how to dance in the rain." So theres everything about me, Well, not everything... but anyway.... Ok bye!
Ehh... okay so I looked further into the rules. No Erotica. :/ But, what if I left out that part and just type, [sex scene not included due to rules] ??? Would that work?
Welcome to Writing Forums, huskylover103! I hope you find what you're looking for here, whatever your interests in writing. This forum aims to provide the best workshopping resources on the internet, and to that end we have a few rules which you should familiarise yourself with before you get stuck in. The main section of the site is the Writing Workshop, where members can post their writing in order to receive critique of their work. However, before we allow members to post their work, they must have met some basic requirments. Firstly, you must have been a member for fourteen days, and have made twenty posts on the forum overall (please note, posts in Word Games do not count towards this). This is so that members, when they post their work, have familiarised themselves with the forums and contributed to them (as well as hopefully learned something for themselves). Secondly, members must provide two constructive reviews of other people's work for each piece of their own that they wish to post. This is because we believe that the focus of workshopping should be equally upon giving reviews as receiving them, as they allow a writer to practice and improve their editing skills, which they can then apply to their own writing. Beyond the Writing Workshop, you will find that we have extensive forums for discussion of aspects of writing, as well as a community area for general discussion. We also run periodic short story and poetry contests, which are good for challenging yourself and expanding your skills. If you have any questions or problems, then the moderators (myself, Cogito, Lemex and Dante Dases) should be your first port of call. Any technical problems with the site itself should be directed to Daniel, the site administrator and owner. I would recommend you have a look over the rules so that you know what to expect, and what is expected. But aside from that, I hope you enjoy your time here. Banzai
Thanks Banzai! Wow, I like the idea that you have to do all that before you can post your works, it means it will lessen the people who jsut come here to get reviews and leave. I thank you for your reply!
Welcome to the forums. I joined earlier in the week. Lots to read. I have a Siberian Husky/American Eskimo cross, named Rue who helps me proofread. That is his stupid pet trick. No joke. I read aloud, the better to catch mistakes and awkward wording, when I'm done I hand the page to Rue and point to where I want him to put it. The simple point and click trick with a twist. Huskies are a great breed, don't know what I would do without mine. Enjoy the boards. - Darkkin
Ahhhh that sounds soooo cute!!! Heh, my Tessa would just eat the page. I would die, LOL Do you have a Facebook or something? I'd love to see your Huskimo boy!
