Hi All I'm new, as you've already guessed. I am a yet-to-be-published writer of children's books, and I am from New Zealand. Would love to hear from other Kiwi's starting out in NZ. Just wondering - is there anyone on this site over 20, or am I too old to be here?!! Reading old threads I see loads of young people! Anyway, Hiya:
Hi, there are quite a few people on the site over 20 (although i'm not one of them!) and some people that are quite above that age... *mentions no names* Its great to see another new face and I hope you find what you're looking for here. Give us a shout if you need anything.
Welcome to the site. What kind of children's books do you write? While there are a lot of teenage writers on here, there are also plenty of people over twenty. The average age here is something like 25, though I'm not positive on that. Again, welcome.
Hello Rosie, Welcome to the Writing Forums. I'm 54, so you are definitely not too old for the site! If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well! As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
