Yep, that's it!! By chance is there an insurance company with that name? If there were an American Shield I'm quite sure there would also be American Shield Insurance.

No, there's no Canadian Shield Insurance, but there is a Green Shield Insurance!

    Here:

There are 5 cities in that little red peninsula—Toronto, Kitchener, London, Hamilton, and Windsor.

... and just above it you've got Ottowa, Montreal, and Quebec. That's what I call me some clusterin'!

Actually it looks like Ottowa is inside the red part as well.

There's a few other cities here in southern Ontario - but smaller ones - including Niagara Falls, ON. The corridor from Toronto to Hamilton to Niagara Falls to Fort Erie (across the river from Buffalo) is called the "Golden Horseshoe."

That map of the cities is missing a few - like Halifax, Nova Scotia (current population about 420,000) and Victoria, BC (current population about 363,000)

I loved traveling to Nova Scotia. Highly recommend it. It was settled by Europeans around the same time as the east coast of New England and has a similar colonial vibe. And very lively Celtic culture.

Then you're surely aware of the English singer Anna Russell, who does for classical vocal music what P.D.Q. Bach did for baroque music. Every year, I celebrate the vernal equinox with her "Spring Song."

And if anybody's been interested in Wagner's Ring Cycle but doesn't want to invest nearly half a day in listening to it, Ms. Russell gives you a twenty-five minute synopsis which leaves out nothing of significance.

"I'm not making this up, you know!"

The first time I heard Anna Russell, I laughed until I was almost ill.

In the uk we pronounce Bach like bark. But we say Bachman turner overdrive back man because that's how the band say it and how DJs introduce them

There is a Canadian YouTuber - J. J. McCullough - i sort of follow who says "aboot". He's from BC, i believe, close to Victoria but on the mainland. His paternal name sounds Scottish, so perhaps it's due to that.
