How do you "land" a carrack/sailboat in general?

In my story there's a carrack full of conquistadors. The opening scene is them landing. How would they beach it? Ropes and pulling? Anchor and rowboats?

Anchor and rowboats. Though I suppose a one-time beaching might be possible.

Edit: On second thought, no beaching. The draft was too deep, it would probably run aground before it reached the shore.

Anchor and rowboats. The big ships never actually touched shore after being launched (unless they were being refitted at a port with a drydock that could accommodate them). All the movies show big ships anchoring off shore and people going ashore in rowboats.
