The hundred thousand words thing is funny to me. I don't think practice makes perfect. I think perfect practice makes perfect.

I have a lot of hours driving but I'm not getting any better at driving. I just plod along, 8 over the speed limit, listening to the radio. If I spent another 100,000 hours driving, I'd be no closer to being a stunt or race car driver.

    Off topic, I know.

Yeah, you should read them. Lots of great creatures in them... I think you might really enjoy the trolls.

Spend a month researching and outlining a book, write the whole first draft in three months, take a month off, then spend the next seven rewriting it until you can read the whole thing out loud with smooth flow, then start peddling it while writing something else. You'll be better at writing at that point.

Stop demanding guarantees and write something. And read a book written in the past fifty years.

Bloody hell, I READ them fifty years ago!

And I couldn't stand all the bloody songs about gold he stuck in!

    I hate bloody musicals!
