how to give hints on bad guys name without giving it away?

okay, some of the book is in the bad guys perspective,
I want it to be a mystery/crime,
So i can't give their names away.

Simply refer to him by a common noun (i.e. a noun that is not a name), such as "the man/woman".

 

okay, but i was wondering how i could hint who they are.

 

Boh, stuff like the traces they leave behind can say a lot about who the person is to someone who has an eye for the details. or if he walks or talks in a certain way, something you mentioned briefly when introducing him/her but didn't put any emphasis on. i don't know if this was any help.
