how's that possible, when there are only 200-300 at most, on most days? and if it's true, what the heck caused the stampede?... anyone know?
Some of those from the million machine(bots) rally, must have came here for a rest. i too noticed this, and thought...what the... IF we had this many real people on here at the same time, this place would have lagged itself into oblivion.
From my forum experiences, it is most likely bots. 200-300 people on a day is actually really good, though, too.
It could be a glitch in the forum software, or it could be evidence of a DoS (Denial of Service) attack by a hacker. The latter could have something to do with the lousy response of the server on occasion recently. But I don't have access to the server logs that could possibly answer the question.
edit: sorry, I misread 4 weeks as 4 days. I was going say that the entire Muslim world has been on holiday for the past week for Sacrifice Festival. I know most of my students spent nearly all their time online!
actually, I noticed a few days back that everytime I tried to get on here, it came up with a database error and also, a page came up saying the forum had closed or something like that. But then not long after, the forum came back. I should have done a print screen on it to show...
I dare say it would have to have something to do with it. I have a lot of trouble trying to post on here, and simply to log in here, hence my lack of activity.
