This forums seem good enough, i've been looking for something like this for sometime now. Well, time to introduce myself. My name is Marcelo *********, I was born in Tucson, Arizona (U.S.) the 12th of November, 1993. As my name may have suggested, I'm mexican. However, you may also have realized that I master English, and I hope to be a mexican writer who writes in English (strange, huh?). I personally like J.R.R. Tolkien's works, R.A. Salvatore's works (being the only D&D books I have read and plan to read) and I love mythology and folklore, especially Norse and Finnish. Well, I hope you see me as a fellow aspiring writer and not as a "beaner". ...HELLO EVERYONE!
Hello to you, Marcelo. Welcome to Writing Forums. Ah, R.A. Salvatore, eh? I've read a few books by that author, and they weren't bad. I used to be big into Forgotten Realms and Dragonlance books. I need to start reading them again.
Hola Marcelo, Welcome to the Writing Forums. I'm editing your last name out of your intro post because of your age, but only this once - if you decide to restore it after what I have to hope is due consideration, I won't object. I just want to make sure you have had a chance to reconsider, for safety's sake. If you haven't explored the site yet, you should probably do so soon. Newcomers often gravitate to the Lounge, the Word Games, or the Review Room, but there is much more to be discovered if you poke in the corners. Remember to check out our FAQ as well, and be sure to read through the forum rules, too, to avoid any misunderstandings or hurt feelings. Respect for one another is our principal mandate. As for the Review Room, new joiners often wonder why we do things a bit differently on this site than on other writing sites. We emphasize reviewing as a critical writing skill. Training your eye by reviewing other people's work helps you improve your own writing even before you present it for others to see. Therefore, we ask members to review other people's writing before posting work of their own. The Review Room forums on this site, therefore, are true workshops, not just a bulletin board for displaying your work (and on that note, please only post each item for review in one Review Room forum). See this post, Why Write Reviews Before Posting My Work? for more information. Enjoy your stay here, and have fun!
Wow, reading my first post made me realize all I have learned here in the last year. The funny part is that I'd claimed to master English... Hehe, guess I didn't knew that it is almost impossible to do that . Also, for some strange reason my last name was covered by the curse filter xD. Anyway, just felt this urge to post this here, and I hope that I can keep learning from you here.
