ICE Earth was once a beautiful blue planet. Now it’s a white sphere of dense grey skies and strong violent winds. Blizzards rage across the globe in such force they can cause such devastation. Much of what’s left of the Human race live underground or in very sheltered areas. The oceans have all frozen up so finding water is much harder and ice has to be melted down filtered and cleaned before it can be made drinkable. Many of the tribes colonies still posses technology like large snow cat vehicles and large mammoth trucks for long distance journeys. To venture outside into the snow filled land unprotected would invite certain death by freezing. The calendar date is almost unknown since the great change. The History. On April the 30th 2035 was when it all began. Across the globe in synchronisation the power of electricity stopped leaving the whole world in strive. Half a planet in darkness while from the night. Within weeks the economy began to collapse. It was May 20th when the great explosion from the moon rocked the planet. An Alien force came in full strength and destroyed a third of the moon. The effects were disastrous to the planet. Meteors debris from the moon showered the earth causing violent and catastrophic earthquakes tidal waves wiping out 3 billion lives leaving only 3 billion remaining to survive. The great leaders that once ran the separate countries were all slain and the might of the military globally was all but crushed. The Aliens known as the Drekk made their attack and wiped out what remained of the few un crushed cities. Chaos spread across the planet. By the start of July the human race had been defeated and broken. The Drekk had come to strip the Earth of its resources. It didn’t take long for the survivors to learn how to fight again. But that wasn’t the worst. Shortly after the effects of the moon and its explosion which rocked the planet the Earth began to change the hot countries began to freeze and snow began to fall across the deserts. Within a few years the Earth entered its greatest Ice age. The Drekk had been forced to retreat from the planet due to the extreme change. Those who survived adapted. The population began to go under ground and build up communities which became tribes. But peace wasn’t meant to be the way. What technology survived was fought over and then the fight for food began. The effects worsened and the Drekk returned. Its now unknown how long the world has been this way and its clear the Ice will not be melting for thousands of years to come. The Drekk still try to strip the planet from its resources while some of the tribes have banded together to fight the Drekk. Using what tech there is the tribes have learnt how to build again. But not all the tribes are as civil. Some became cannibals while others became brutal murderers. And then came the Reavers the vilest of the vile. Even the Drekk fear the reavers. The Drekk The Drekk are an Alien race come from far away. The main thing that’s known about these beings is the fact they won’t leave the Earth and plunge it from what they can take. Humanity has fought a long and brutal war with these creatures. They have technology so advanced and use Pulse weapons that fire lasers. The guns they carry are large in size. The Drekk patrol the skies with large fighters. In battles they also throw webs that once wrapped around their victim tighten until they rip through the flesh. The Drekk are much taller than that of the average Human reaching a size of 9 ft They have long tentacles at the backs of their heads much like the look of dreadlocks. They were a thick bulky armour and many carry strange curved blades. They see with two yellow eyes. They are also humanoid in they have two legs and two arms. The language in which they speak is totally unpronounceable in a Human tongue. They are very strong intelligent and fast. Its also been discovered that some are telepathic. They travel in large tanks that hover above ground level and live in circular ships that hover high up in the grey skies. Those that reside on the ground live in well made bunkers and well guarded. Most Drekk compounds are surrounded by high wired fencing that carries high voltages of electricity. Tribes. The English (Allied) The English are by far the largest of the tribes and by some sheer miracle the Island that the Ancient British people lived on survived much of the disaster and so The English were the first of the Tribes. They also enforced and pushed for the Alliance of the Tribes and work very closely with the Ghosts. The English possess a high amount of Technology and share what they can with the other Tribes in good faith. The English also have large amounts of weaponry. They possess three apache Helicopters still maintained and well looked after they also possess three transport helicopters, as well as a large arsenal of armoured transport vehicles. Much of the English weaponry is Machine gun based and they are highly skilled fighters and have often take the fight to the Drekk and the other opposing tribes. The English travel across the Dunes in armoured carriers that can withstand great amounts of sustained gun battles. The English also maintain 70 domes. The Domes in which the English reside in are large glass made covers protecting the bunkers and small buildings they’ve erected with the aide of the Roughnecks. The English have also been responsible for protecting the other Allied tribes apart from the Arabians. The English are also the only tribe that considers itself ran by a working government that control all the English domes. The Ghosts (Allied) The Ghosts are master scouts and capable of using the elements of the weather to their advantage. They live in a small dome near the Everest peak. Their community is covered by two glass domes created by the English and the Ghosts work closely with the English in sharing technology and other supplies heavily. The Ghosts earned their name because they use their skills to become invisible and undetectable there are master hiders and master hunter’s they have passed through the peaks of the frozen woodlands of Carafia and the large hills of Dominicus and fought largely against the Drekk. The Scouts of the Ghosts are brilliant sniper’s. The Ghost’s have always gone to the aide of allied Tribes when called upon and can be seen working with the Great English society’s. Their weaponry mainly consists of blades for sneaking sabotage attacks crossbows and long sniper rifles. The Ghosts are also excellent trackers Orlocks (Allied) The Orlock’s are tribe made up of convoy workers they possess large mammoth trucks that cross the violent arctic dunes to help supply the other tribes with the needs of food and water and building material. These Mammoth trucks are well armed with large cannon style guns and the crew of these gigantic mammoth trucks are armed with powerful combat shot guns and revolver pistols as a back up weapon. Though the Orkock’s are not fighters as such. However they know how to travel across the dunes and survive. They are also extremely good engineers and can fix just about any engine. The convoy stru8cks they travel in are well armoured with thick padded glass. The Orlock’s have a very good relationship with the friendly tribes working to better protect each other. Roughnecks (Allied) The Roughnecks are a small tribe and main made of construction workers and minors a trade handed down from the generations since they were founded by those who survived on the rigs and the minors lucky enough to survive the great disaster. The Roughnecks are the ones that can find water and have the greatest potential for drilling down to extract it best. The Roughnecks have a good relationship with the other friendly tribes and help with construct where they can. They are very hard working people. However they are not fighters and as such don’t possess a great deal of fire arms. At the entrance down to their underground haven two large sentry guns protect them and the main supply of weaponry is Crossbows and nail guns. The Sentry guns were a gift from the English Tribe. The Roughnecks skin is also paler than the other tribes. The Arabians (Allied) The Arabians lived in the Eastern world across the deserts long before the Ice age came. They have remained Arabians because they still live across the Dunes only underground near the rocky peaks of Tailghanny and the Saudi dunes. The Arabians are one of the biggest tribes with over 3o settlements mostly within the rocks or underground. The Arabians still cling onto their religious beliefs and mainly keep themselves to themselves. However they have allied themselves with the Allied tribes for the common gaol of defeating the Alien Drekk parasites. The Arabians are the perfect hit and run fighters and excellent assassins they fight hard and barely retreat from a losing battle. They possess an excellent amount of technology and employ many Roughneck tribesmen to operate their drilling machinery and share their Oil supplies in return. Skarrens (Allied) The Skarren’s were nomads once people who’d been left to survive against the raging storms scattered across the old American and Canadian continents. For decades after the tribes formed the Skarren’s drifted in the decaying cities until the last crumbled to nothing. Jeremiah Skarren gathered as many of the nomads from the North American and Canadian continents and formed the tribe which he duly named the Skarren’s. The Skarren’s life in small villages on edge of what were once America and the Atlantic Ocean. They are brilliant scavengers and have earned a reputation for finding fresh water and in many case’s still running rivers. Since they became part of the Alliance of Tribes they have worked heavily with the Orlock’s and Roughnecks. The equipment they use for finding water has been stolen from the Drekk and much of the Skarren weaponry is taken from the Drekk. Skarren patrollers are usually armed with Drekk Pule weapons which fire hard laser rounds. The Skarrens. The Water the Skarrens share is driven to the other Tribes by the Orlocks. Veridians (Cannibals) Veridians are cannibalistic barbarians. They live mostly in the hill peaks of Denmark and occasionally venture out in quad vehicles looking for food. They care not what they eat and are very primitive in appearance and behaviour. They use large swords and crossbows to hunt with some use sniper rifles the ones that are considered intellectual the tribe very rarely venture into the main Dune wastes and care nothing for the other tribes they have even been seen eating the flesh from dead Drekk. They possess no technology apart from sniper rifles to hunt other men or women for food. They mainly fight with spikes clubs and broad swords and were mostly fur from dead animals and mostly live in sheltered huts made from ice and mud and cement. Van Haar (Murderous Villains) The Van Haar are much like the Orlock’s and originate from the middle European continents. The Van Haar have no particular home base. Instead they travel across the Dunes and through the high peaks. The Van Haar will also attack other Convoys and steal their supplies or die trying. The travel in large Mammoth trucks very similar to the Orlock’s and use a varied mix of weaponry from Crossbows to large shotguns and rocket launchers. The Van Haar are cunning. However the Van Haar have never attacked Tribe’s homes and are very rarely seen in the same place longer than a week. They travel in large convoys and have even been known to attack each other. When they succeed in stealing from moving Convoys they leave no survivors unless some of their victims escape. Reavers (Avoid) The Reaver’s are pure evil. Some say they are humans gone insane from the changing world. Their equipment is crude in design. They use many crude gliders decorated with skin shed from their victims animal Drekk or Human. They will attack anything that runs from them. And they mostly attack anything that crosses their paths The Reaver’s have no home that’s been located by the others. When they attack they will torture and rape their victims Sometimes they have been known to rape and eat their victims at the same time. The Reaver’s decorate their skin with barbed wire and even slice their tongues down the centre to mimic a snakes tongue. Some have even carved their teeth into fangs. Anyone or anything that comes into contact with the Reaver’s will suffer the most horrendous kind of torture and from time to time the Reaver’s have been known to leave a sole survivor after they have slain their family and made them watch. The weaponry the Reaver’s use is anything from pulse guns to Machine guns and Crossbows with Swords. All of the Reaver’s vehicles release large black clouds of smoke and they travel in extremely large numbers. They even ware the dead skin of their victims as clothing and decorate their guns with the same dead skin. They will almost always shed their victims of Skin. All the Tribes will avoid the Reaver’s at all cost’s and almost never engage them in combat. And only very few battles fought with the Reaver’s end in victory. Most would choose to run at all costs. The reaver's also travel in large number's of snow bikes decorated with shed skin. All Reaver's tattoo tribal images onto their faces and arms. Each tribe lives far apart and mostly the friendly’s live underground The English and The Ghosts live in sheltered domes and have a high amount of Technology in their possession as well as a good arsenal of projectile weaponry. The two tribes work very closely together. Little is known of the Blood apart from the few encounters which have ended in blood shed. The Reavers are pure evil the men and women disfigure themselves and have even been sighted wearing the skin of dead humans and Drekk alike. The Van Haar travel across the snow dunes killing anything that gets in their way Drekk or Human. The Drekk are draining the planet by using a large device that has been drilling down through the Frozen Atlantic ocean and into the Earths Crust to extract the Molten core as well as the Water below the frozen depth. The Game Each of the Friendly Tribes have gathered their best warriors to make the trek across the Ice dunes to destroy the Planetary drainer. A large device the Drekk are using to drill down to the crust and extract the molten core as well as the little water supplies beneath the frozen ocean. With a couple of ammendments written by Raven. 1. Read everyone’s posts! Not only does this keep us all on the same page, it’s fun to know your posts are being read and acted upon. Respond to stimuli and events from other players’ posts. 2. Avoid writing one-line posts or extremely long posts. A range of 40-300 words is good to shoot for. 3. Edit before posting, we’re all here to improve as well as enjoy. 4. No God-modding or perfect characters. (boring!) 5. Fights between characters should be kept to a minimum and I would like to see no killing of humans at all. However, if a fight or killing is unavoidably called for the players concerned must work the action out in PM and both parties should be amenable to the outcome. 6. Do not control another person’s character without their express consent. 7. If a player is AWOL and holding up the game the character will be NPC’d at the GMs’ discretion. If the player has been gone for 24 hours other players may control their character in minor ways (move them a bit but no big decisions and nothing out of character). If you know you’ll be gone for some time you may hand over your character to another player’s care. 8. Don’t flood the thread with long conversations. Give others a chance to post. 9. Please discuss any issues in the Discussion thread or PM Me Raven with your concerns. Gossiping about issues or spamming up the story thread is counterproductive. 10. No Inactivity. If you don’t wish to play then don’t join the game. Anyone inactive for 48 hours (2 Days) without a valid reason will be killed off. If you don’t want to participate daily then don’t join its not fair on the players your teamed with and can bring the game to a stand still. 11. Post Daily. Unless a valid reason is given. If you are unable to post the person your teamed with will be allowed to control your character until you return. 12. And lastly…the GMs’ word is law. This game will also contain graphic scenes of violence and blood shed. .
